I've heard of sex wax in surfing and all but what is the point of waxing a snowboard? I'm thinking of getting into it this winter and want to know what I'm doing so I don't act like a kook

In a nutshell, surf wax keeps you on top of your surfboard, while snowboard wax keeps you moving on your snowboard and keeps your base nice and lubricated!

Aaah yes, years back I used to nick all the house's candles to wax my sledge in the winter (of couse, back then we had PROPER winter with PROPER snow etc.)

It makes a heck of a difference to us sledge-afficionados - scented candles being the best, of course ;-)
